Rainbow Bridge in Memory of Bear
I came across this on YouTube and it touched my heart. I dedicate it to Bear whom we lost on February 14, 2005.
Bear was our Mastiff/Lab mix, the most devoted, loving, huge lug of a beast who was 180# in his healthy years.
We miss you Moose-Moose, rest in peace...

Astrid the coffee table dog...
So our dogs have a couch, yep...they have a couch...
About a year ago we got a nice leather couch, and the house rules were no dogs on the new couch (which hubby abandoned quickly for his precious creton Astrid)
Well, when we moved into our new home we got a 2nd couch, perfectly 'Boxer Color'. So we put a blanket on it, that we remove when company comes over...
Well over the weekend while washing blanket A we put on temporary blanket B. Last night blanket A was washed and hubby folded Blanket B and sat it on the leather couch...
Well this morning Bodhi was eyeing the blanket on the leather couch, knowing what he was thinking I grabbed it and put it on the coffee table because I knew that Bodhi was thinking "I'm allowed to lay where my blanket is..."
So about an hour later Bodhi is fast asleep on the couch where he is supposed to be and Astrid? Yep, on the blanket ON the coffee table! *sigh*
I ran for the camara but it was too tempting of a chase and I did not get a picture!

Inside - Outside - Inside - Outside
SERIOUSLY!
Bodhi knocks on the glass door when he wants out. He'll knock and knock. AND knock. Then you get up, walk across the house, or the room and open the door then he pops out his head, takes a sniff, turns around and stays inside.
ARGH! Good thing he's cute!

Boxer to the Emergency Vet
Last Monday Astrid had a bump on her head, which progressed to a few hives...
We had been down this road before with Bodhi and figured that Astrid had gotten bitten by a bug like Bodhi did a couple years earlier ~ so we gave her some Benadryl.
Hive abated, came back, redose, abated, redose - all seemed AOK.
Tuesday Morning Astrid blew the doggy chunks of the century (on the carpet) and you could tell she just did not 'feel good'. After she tossed her cookies the hives were totally gone... So no more Benadryl.
That evening she got the squirts, blood red and mucus-like...I called the Emergency Vet and they said it'd be best to bring her in.
Dehydrated, IV hydration, an over night stay and $683 later she's better...The vet thinks it was a Spider bite - EEK! We've been finding MONSTER spiders all over the INSIDE of the house so it's quite possible...
She's all better now, and it was worth every penny :)
